We are delighted that our colleague Bronislav Ostřanský has won the award in the category Translation of Scholarly and Popular Science Works as part of the 18th edition of the Academia Publishing House Awards. A total of 49 publications published in 2025 at institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences were submitted for this year’s awards.
Doc. Ostřanský received the award for his two-volume annotated translation of al-Qushayri’s Treatise on Sufism. This is an extraordinary work that deserves attention not only for its content but also for its scope, as it ranks among the most extensive translations from Arabic into Czech.
Many congratulations to our colleague on this wonderful achievement, and thank you for his outstanding long-term contribution to both scholarly research and public outreach!
Both volumes are available for purchase at the Academia Publishing House bookstore and online shop.
