Wed Feb 11 18:00:00 CET 2026 - Wed Feb 11 20:00:00 CET 2026
We warmly invite you to a lecture by our colleague Jarmila Ptáčková, which will take place on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Institut für Asien- und Afrikawissenschaften (IAAW) in Berlin and online via Zoom.
The lecture will focus on changes in the lives of people living in the Tibet–Nepal borderlands and, using the example of border closures during the Covid-19 pandemic, will show how China strengthens its power in the region through regulations and the control of mobility. How do these changes affect the everyday lives of local communities? And what impact might they have on the situation in the region? Join us to learn more!
Attendance is possible both in person and online.
