This book explores cultural security not only as a state-driven process but also as a dynamic, bottom-up mechanism that ethnic communities use to maintain their cultural identity. Through case studies from China and Mongolia, the book examines how cultural markers shift depending on internal and external pressures, influencing how communities perceive and safeguard their identity.
