From October 2nd to 6th, Giedrė Šabasevičiūtė (Oriental Institute, CAS) together with Ophélie Mercier (Ghent University) organized the international workshop "Studying Arts Anthropologically: What to Do with Texts?" in a beautiful village of Fayoum, Egypt. Researchers specializing in literature, cinema, music, and performative art forms from institutions such as Paris 8 University, LSE, NVIC, and Ghent University gathered for a few days to explore creative methodologies for integrating art into anthropological research on the arts.
