Tue Sep 09 10:09:00 CEST 2025

The Oriental Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences hosted a hybrid AI Knowledge Café on September 5, 2025, as part of the Artificial Intelligence for Science and Society – AV21 Strategy Program IV. With over 600 participants from around the world and an in-person audience in Prague, the event became a truly global forum.

Participants from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the Pacific, and North America joined the conversation on “Librarians, Researchers, and AI: Shaping Information, Science, and Society.” Moderated by Loida Garcia-Febo, the event featured expert voices from Chief Librarian of the United Nations Dag Hammarskjöld Library in the Netherlands,  school library perspective from Malaysia, and scholars from Czech libraries and academic institutions.

The AI Knowledge Café is now featured on the IFLA website, exemplifying scholar-society engagement, bridging theory with lived experience & translating knowledge into actionable insights.
