Nakladatelství Academia will release in October the Orient edition of the Book of Religious and Philosophical sects and schools of Persian scholar Muhammad ash-Shahrastani (1086-1153). The book is considered the most important Islamic medieval work dedicated to religion and philosophical directions in the then Middle East and Mediterranean. An extensive initial study dedicated to both Shahrastani’s legacy and his interpretation, as well as his context of medieval Islamic thinking is provided by OI Scholar Bronislav Ostřanský.
