Kevin L. Schwartz and Olm Gölz (University of Freiburg) published an article in MERIP entitled "Going to War with the Coronavirus and Maintaining the State of Resistance in Iran", in which he claims that the government's response to the pandemic revealed a key aspect of its ideology, namely the image of life in Iran as a constant struggle and unity in the face of new crises and threats.
