The Oriental Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences is pleased to announce that the 70th Rencontre Assyriologique Internationale (RAI) will take place in Prague from July 7 to 11, 2025. This major annual gathering of Assyriologists and scholars of the ancient Near East will bring together researchers from around the world to present and discuss the latest developments in the field.
The conference is co-organized with Charles University, specifically the Institute of Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the Faculty of Arts. This collaboration highlights Prague’s long-standing tradition in Ancient Near Eastern studies and its role as a hub for international academic exchange.
The program will feature keynote lectures, academic panels, poster sessions offering participants a dynamic and engaging experience.
The RAI 2025 is also generously supported by Strategie AV21 of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Municipality of Prague.
